Helpful items when traveling
Many people ask me what they should purchase for their trip, or what I use when I travel. I am all about traveling light. With over 40 years of traveling internationally, I have reached a point where I don't want to drag any more weight than necessary. I have created a list of products here that I have found useful. You can purchase items at many stores. I often use Amazon, so I have provided here links to these products.
Power Adapters
You need to check the specific Country plug configuration before purchasing an adapter. Also, will you be taking a hair dryer or curling iron? Most hotels have hair dryers, but few have curling irons. If you are using a hair dryer or curling iron, make sure the adapter you purchase has the correct conversion for this high level of power draw. There are different styles of adapters you can use. Here are some options:

If you are a tight packer like me, you might want a set with individual plugs for each location. This way, you only take the one you need. Here is a kit option: CLICK HERE

For a universal plug that handles a hair dryer or curling iron, here is an option: CLICK HERE

Money Pouch
I usually travel with a money pouch. Carrying a purse is not only cumbersome when walking a lot, but they attract pick pockets. You can get a money pouch that is comfortable for you. Keep in mind, they will only do you good if they are carried under your clothes, so pick comfortable. I use a waist pouch because I don't like the string on my neck, but many people love a neck pouch. Keep in mind the pocket size being big enough for a passport. There are a lot of choices. Here are some:

Containers for Liquid
TSA only allows liquids in 3 oz containers, and for most European countries all liquids must fit in a small zip lock baggie or a travel case that is equivalent size. I suggest the soft plastic bottles compared to hard plastic. I have had the hard plastic ones break, and that wasn't real fun to clean out of all my clothes upon arriving. Here are some options:

Compact Hair Brushes
While it seems silly to take a smaller hair brush, I try to save every inch and pound I can. Here are some compact hair brush options. I have tried all of them, and rotate between them based on where I am going and what my needs will be.

For long hair and humid weather, this is my favorite because it is like a standard brush just smaller: CLICK HERE

For short trips, this is my favorite because I can slip it into my TSA liquids bag: CLICK HERE

For a medium length trip, I use this one because it is still compact, but is more normal brush like: CLICK HERE
Body Cleansing
When traveling, the less bottles you can take, the better. Here are some options that utilize wipes to keep clean and refresh.

Cleansing Melts. These are fantastic for washing your face and using less bottles. They fit in your purse or bag easily: CLICK HERE

Motion Sickness Options
I don't know about you, but I get motion sick. If I want to sleep an entire long flight, I use Dramamine. If I want to only be lightly drowsy, I use Bonine because it isn't as strong as Dramamine, but is affective. Here are some links:

Suitcases and Backpacks
Everyone has a different idea of how they like to pack. Since I am not a suitcase type of person, I don't have many suggestions on them. Here is the backpack I use. I have traveled all over Europe with this: CLICK HERE
