Alaska Adventure: Wild Glaciers, Icebergs & Mountains
Join me for a small-group journey into the heart of Alaska—an epic trip designed for outdoor enthusiasts who crave real exploration. This is not a sightseeing bus tour. This is an Alaskan Adventure: by train, on foot, and paddling among massive icebergs in one of the most surreal landscapes on Earth.
Important note: This adventure requires a good level of fitness and mobility. It’s not suitable for those with mobility issues.
The Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Anchorage
Fly into Anchorage and settle in. We’ll meet the group and get ready for the journey ahead.
Day 2 – Scenic Train Ride to Seward + Tonsina Point Hike
We’ll board the Alaska Railroad’s famous Coastal Classic Train, one of the most beautiful rides in North America, winding past glaciers, mountains, and wildlife. Once in Seward, we’ll set out on the Tonsina Point Trail, a moderate 4.2-mile round trip hike with about 750 feet of elevation gain.
This out-and-back hike leads us through a lush mossy forest beneath towering spruce trees before opening up to a secluded beach where we’ll find a petrified forest, driftwood, and stunning coastal views. It’s the perfect mix of forest serenity and ocean scenery. We’ll take our time exploring the shoreline and combing the beach before returning along the same trail.
Day 3 – Hike Exit Glacier
Today we’ll explore Exit Glacier, part of Kenai Fjords National Park. The hike brings us face-to-face with this mighty river of ice and offers sweeping views of the rugged landscape. We will be on the glacier and in the middle of the force of nature.
Day 4 – Bear Glacier Lagoon Adventure
This is where things get truly unforgettable. We’ll travel to Bear Glacier Lagoon, a remote and otherworldly place filled with towering icebergs, hidden coves, waterfalls, and brilliant blue glacier ice. Our kayaks and paddleboards will be ready at the water’s edge. We’ll spend the day paddling through this surreal lagoon, and then camp right on the beach, falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing and the sight of icebergs drifting past.
Day 5 – More Paddling + Return to Anchorage
We’ll spend the morning back on the lagoon, soaking up the quiet beauty and exploring new corners. In the evening, we’ll catch the 6:00 pm train back to Anchorage.
Day 6 – Explore Anchorage
Enjoy a day in Anchorage—It's time to relax a little and have some time to visit local shops, museums, and restaurants, or just relax and take it all in.
Day 7 – Departure
Fly home with memories of an Alaska adventure that few ever get to experience.
