England tid bits
When I book a trip for you, we will sit down and go over where you are visiting, how to get around, how to handle the language barrier, and important things to know when traveling. Here are a few helpful things to know when visiting England:

Language: English is the official language in England. Learning a few basic English phrases can be helpful, but English is widely spoken.
Currency: England uses the British Pound Sterling (GBP). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's a good idea to carry some cash for smaller establishments.
Cultural Etiquette: Politeness and queuing (waiting in line) are important cultural values. Saying "please" and "thank you" is customary, and respect for personal space is crucial.
Tipping: Tipping is customary in restaurants and for services. A 10% to 15% tip is common for good service in restaurants where a service charge isn't included.
Weather: England's weather can be unpredictable, so it's advisable to dress in layers and carry an umbrella, especially if visiting outside of the summer months.
Public Transportation: England has an extensive public transportation system, including buses and trains. Consider an Oyster Card in London or rail passes for travel across the country.
Countryside: England's countryside is known for its beauty. Consider visiting the Lake District, Cotswolds, or other picturesque regions for a taste of rural life.
Museums and Attractions: Many museums and attractions are free, but check for any special exhibitions with an entrance fee.
Local Cuisine: Try traditional English dishes like fish and chips, Sunday roast, and afternoon tea.
Driving: If you plan to drive in England, remember to drive on the left side of the road. Check for parking regulations and congestion charge zones in cities.
Safety: England is generally safe for tourists, but be aware of your belongings and surroundings, especially in crowded areas.
Emergency Services: The emergency number for police, fire, and medical assistance in England is 999.
By keeping these points in mind, you can fully enjoy England's rich history, vibrant cities, and diverse landscapes while respecting local customs and traditions.
